As peer health educators, we focus on the topics of Wellness, such as Stress management, Sleep education, Nutrition & Body Image, Alcohol & Other Drugs, Sexual Health Education, Healthy Relationships, Power-based Violence Prevention, and Emotional Well-being. Healthy Noles serve the FSU community through:
- Campus events and outreach
- Facilitating workshops
- Classroom Presentations
- Developing health materials and passive campaigns
- Serving as health advocates
What is Healthy Noles?
Healthy Noles is a student organization directed and advised by CHAW with the purpose of training student leaders into peer health educators who educate the FSU community through health advocacy events, presentations, and engaging in peer discussions. While we educate on healthy norms and behaviors, we also challenge and confront harmful social norms and individual behaviors.
Additionally, Healthy Noles is a growing organization. With growth, there are more leadership position opportunities available, more health advocacy event-planning opportunities, and a closer supportive community.
What is the commitment of being in Healthy Noles?
Healthy Noles has bi-weekly meetings that are usually one hour long and mandatory, as they are our primary way of planning for events.
Outside of weekly meetings, we ask students to participate in at least 10 hours of advocacy events per semester. Each month we offer several advocacy event opportunities. Sign-ups are divided into one-hour increments to make participation more flexible for all students.
All new members have to complete the Peer Health Educator Training. The training usually is held on a Friday afternoon through Saturday. The Peer Health Educator Training is offered once or twice a semester, depending on demand. Our next new member training will be held on January 26th & 27th, 2024.
